Serbia Unpacked is published by DYEZ and funded, in part, by affiliate links. This page explains what that means in practice, what it changes about what you read, and what it does not.
How affiliate links work here
Some links to booking platforms and service providers are affiliate links. If you follow one and book something, we may receive a commission from that provider. You pay the same price either way: the commission comes out of the provider’s margin, not out of your pocket.
Where a page carries affiliate links, a notice appears before the offers themselves, not buried at the foot of the page. Affiliate links are marked in the page source so that search engines and other software can identify them.
What it does not change
- Free and official options come first. Where something can be done without paying, or booked directly with the operator, we say so, and we give it the same prominence as any bookable alternative. A free city bus is not demoted because a paid transfer earns us something.
- A page may carry no affiliate links at all. Several already do not. We do not add a commercial block to a page that has no use for one.
- Prices and conditions are not invented to sell. Where we cannot verify a price against the provider, we do not publish one. You will find pages on this site that decline to quote a figure for exactly this reason.
- No false urgency. No countdown timers, no struck-through prices we cannot substantiate, no invented ratings, and no cancellation policy attributed to a whole platform when it belongs to one product.
Editorial independence
Which pages exist, and what they say, is decided before any commercial consideration. A provider cannot pay to be recommended here, to be described more favourably, or to have a competitor removed. We do not sell links, we do not publish sponsored articles, and we do not accept payment for a review.
